Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated 3 August 2026

In short:The Privé charges you nothing, so there is nothing for us to refund. Every payment you make goes to the hotel, and the hotel’s own cancellation terms — shown to you in writing before you book — decide what is refundable.

We take no payment

The Privé does not charge consultation, booking, or service fees, and does not collect card details or process payments. Hotels pay us a commission on completed stays. Because no money passes from you to us, this policy is about the hotel’s terms and how we help you work with them.

The hotel’s terms govern

Each reservation carries the cancellation policy of the property and the rate booked. These vary widely, and we will send you the applicable terms in writing before the booking is confirmed. Common shapes include:

  • Flexible rates — free cancellation until a stated deadline, often 24 to 72 hours before arrival, sometimes longer at resorts.
  • Advance-purchase or non-refundable rates — charged in full at booking, with no refund for cancellation or no-show.
  • Peak and festive periods — longer notice, larger deposits, and minimum-stay rules are common over New Year, holidays, and at villa or resort properties.
  • Group bookings — multiple rooms are frequently subject to separate, stricter contracted terms.

Where a rate is non-refundable, we will say so plainly before you commit, so the trade-off against a flexible rate is a decision you make with the facts in front of you.

Changing or cancelling

Write to prive@creditkeeda.com as early as you can. We will contact the hotel, request the change or cancellation, and confirm the outcome to you in writing. Do not treat a booking as cancelled until you have that confirmation — an unconfirmed request will not protect you from a charge.

There is no charge from us for handling a change or cancellation, however many times it takes.

No-shows and early departure

Failing to arrive without cancelling is treated as a no-show by almost every property, and typically forfeits the first night or the full stay depending on the rate. Leaving early rarely earns a refund of the unused nights unless the hotel agrees in advance. If plans change while you are travelling, tell us before the arrival date rather than after — the outcome is usually better.

How refunds reach you

Refunds move in two stages, and only the first is within anyone’s control:

  • The hotel authorises the refund — usually within a few business days of confirming the cancellation.
  • Your bank posts it — commonly a further 5 to 14 business days, and international card refunds can take a full billing cycle to appear on a statement.

Refunds go back to the original payment method; hotels will not redirect them elsewhere. Where a stay was charged in a foreign currency, the rupee amount credited may differ from the amount originally debited because your card issuer applies its exchange rate on the day of each transaction. That difference is set by your bank, not by the hotel or by us, and is not recoverable from either.

We will chase a delayed refund on your behalf.

Preferred benefits on a cancelled stay

Benefits attach to a stay that actually takes place. If a booking is cancelled or shortened, unused benefits have no cash value and cannot be refunded, transferred, or carried to a future stay.

Disputes and goodwill requests

If a hotel applies a charge you believe is wrong, or if circumstances outside your control disrupt a trip, tell us. We will put the case to the property and press for a waiver or goodwill gesture. Advisor relationships help here more often than a direct approach does — but the decision rests with the hotel, and we cannot compel a refund or guarantee an outcome.

Insurance

Travel insurance is the only reliable protection against non-refundable losses from illness, delay, or cancellation. We recommend arranging it when you book rather than closer to travel, since many policies only cover events arising after the policy starts.
